Workhand vs Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro built its reputation on dispatch and online booking for HVAC, plumbing, and electricians. For project-based crews, HVAC install, landscapers, remodelers, and pool contractors who don't dispatch 12 service tickets a day, the Essentials tier is overkill, and the per-user fees stack up fast. Here's the honest side-by-side.

Common questions

I'm an HVAC / plumbing service shop. Should I switch?

Probably not. If your daily reality is dispatching 8-12 service calls across a service area, Housecall Pro's grid + route optimizer + on-the-spot Wisetack financing offers are genuine advantages. Workhand is built for project work: GC-style multi-day jobs, remodels, HVAC install, landscape, fence installs, and pool builds. If a typical job for you takes a week, Workhand fits. If a typical job takes 60 minutes, stay on HCP.

Can I migrate from Housecall Pro?

Yes. HCP can export customers, jobs, and invoices to CSV. We help with first-time migrations on Pro and Team plans, email [email protected] and we'll walk you through it.

Does Workhand have an online-booking widget?

We have public profile pages with a lead form (workhand.app/c/your-business), but it's a static lead capture, not a real-time slot picker tied to your calendar. If online booking is mission-critical, stay on Housecall Pro. If your customers schedule by phone or text anyway, the lead form is enough.

What about Wisetack consumer financing?

Workhand doesn't bundle consumer financing in v1. If you sell $5K-$15K projects and 30% of close rate comes from offering financing on the spot, that's a real loss in switching. If you mostly handle credit-card-sized invoices or invoice-and-net-30, it doesn't apply.

Why is Workhand cheaper if it's missing all that stuff?

It's not "missing" things, it's built for a different workflow. Housecall Pro's pricing reflects a marketing-automation suite, dispatch grid, and consumer financing engine bolted onto the core CRM. We bet most project crews (remodelers, HVAC install, landscape, pool, fence) don't use those parts and would rather pay $40 less per month plus add unlimited team members for free.
